View full detailsA sump pump has one job. Water fills the pit, the pump starts, the water goes away, the pump shuts off. Every time, for years, usually with nobody watching. At Pumptastic we sell Ebara stainless steel sump pumps, held in stock in Western Australia and shipped anywhere in the country. Prices start at $274.75 and shipping is free on orders over $100. Every submersible sump pump on this page runs on standard 230V single phase power. That matters more than most people realise. It means a typical home install plugs into a normal power point. No switchboard work, no three phase supply, no waiting a fortnight for a sparkie. You buy the sump pump, you drop it in the pit, you plug it in. We are a pump specialist, not a hardware marketplace. When you call (08) 6384 5884 you get someone who sells pumps all day and knows what fails and why. Tell us your pit size, how far up and along the water has to travel, and what is in the water. We will name the model in about two minutes. If none of ours suit, we will say so.
Most people buy the wrong sump pump because they shop on price and power rating. Those are the last two things that matter. Three questions decide it.
Clean rainwater and clear stormwater are easy. Any submersible sump pump handles them. Grey water is different. Laundry water carries lint and hair. Silty stormwater in sandy Perth soil carries fine grit that grinds through an impeller. Water with suspended solids needs a vortex impeller, which spins a whirlpool in the pump body so most of the solids pass through without ever touching the impeller vanes. That is the difference between a sump pump that lasts ten years and one that jams in eight months. If the water contains raw sewage, toilet waste or anything chunky, stop. A sump pump is the wrong tool here and no sump pump on this page will survive it. Look at our Grundfos SEG grinder pumps or Grundfos SEV wastewater pumps. For high volume site dewatering on a build, our Tsurumi range is what the contractors buy.
A manual sump pump runs whenever it has power. You control it, or you wire it to an external controller. A manual sump pit pump suits supervised jobs, hire fleets, and anyone running a level controller from our pump controllers or level control components range. An automatic sump pump has a float switch on a tether. Water rises, the float tips, the pump runs. Water drops, it stops. This is what most homeowners want and it needs no thought after install. A magnetic switch sump pump uses a vertical switch inside the pump body instead of a swinging float. Use it when the pit is narrow. A tethered float needs roughly 30cm of clear swing. In a tight pit it jams against the wall, the pump either never starts or never stops, and you find out during a storm. Magnetic switching solves that completely.
This is the number people skip. A sump pump has to lift water up to the discharge point and push it along the pipe run. Both cost pressure. Lift height is the big one. Every metre of vertical rise eats into flow. A long horizontal run adds friction on top. Measure the vertical distance from the bottom of the pit to the highest point of your discharge pipe, then measure the run to the outlet. If the lift is more than a few metres, or the run is long, call us before you order. We will check your numbers against the pump curve. That five minute call is the whole difference between a sump pump that works and one that hums, overheats and dies.
We are based in the Peel region south of Perth, and WA conditions are hard on this equipment in ways most eastern states retailers never think about. About 78% of Perth's rain falls between May and September. That means your sump pump sits dry and idle for six or seven months, then gets asked to cycle repeatedly through a week of winter fronts. Idle time is when cheap sump pumps die. Coated steel corrodes sitting still, seals dry out, and floats seize. Stainless steel is the answer to a Mediterranean rainfall pattern, and it is why this whole collection is stainless. Coastal air makes it worse. From Mandurah up through Fremantle to Yanchep, salt gets into everything. Sandy Swan Coastal Plain soil makes it worse again, because fine sand washes straight into pits and grinds through plastic impellers. That is the WA argument for the Vox vortex models specifically. We ship every sump pump Australia wide through Australia Post with tracking, which covers the South West, the Wheatbelt, the Goldfields and the Pilbara. Our number is a WA landline on WA time, so you are not calling Melbourne at 6am hoping someone picks up. Full details on our delivery and shipping page.
