Water Filtration Australia.

Industrial and Irrigation Water Filtration Australia Trusts

Pumptastic supplies the heavy-duty water filtration Australia depends on when the water is dirty, the flow is high, and downtime costs real money. This range is not a kitchen tap kit. These are screen filters, brush filters, disc-style protection, and self-cleaning suction strainers built to guard pumps, drippers, sprinklers, nozzles, and process gear on farms, orchards, vineyards, mine sites, and industrial plants. If you pull water from a bore, dam, river, channel, or recycled supply, the right water filtration Australia setup keeps sand, silt, algae, and scale out of your system and keeps your maintenance bill down. We list every filter with its real price, flow rate, pressure rating, and connection type, so you can size, compare, and buy without waiting days for a quote.

Filter Brands We Stock

We stock Filtaworx and Helix Hydro side by side, which covers manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic filtration in one place. Most industrial filter sellers hide behind "request a quote." We show the price, the spec, and the stock on every product page, so you can size, compare, and buy without waiting days. That is a real edge in water filtration Australia wide, where price transparency is still rare.

Filtaworx filters

Filtaworx is an automatic filtration brand, assembled and tested in Australia under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. The self-cleaning screen filters use a suction-scanning backflush that cleans the screen without stopping flow, which is why they turn up on town water intakes, cooling towers, mine process water, and large irrigation schemes. Sizes run from small 50mm units up to 400mm electric-drive systems handling hundreds, and over a thousand, cubic metres an hour. If your water carries algae, sand, or scale and the system cannot stop, this is the range to look at. Compare Filtaworx self-cleaning screen filters and Filtaworx automatic brush filters.

Helix Hydro filters

Helix Hydro covers manual, semi-automatic, and self-cleaning options with a strong price-to-spec balance. The manual and semi-automatic screen and brush filters use epoxy-coated mild steel or polymer bodies with stainless SS304 screens, rated to 8 Bar, in inline and 90 degree layouts with BSP or flanged Table D connections. The self-cleaning suction strainers are built for surface water intakes with heavy algae and coarse solids. It is a practical range for farms and light commercial sites that want reliable protection without an automatic system's price tag. Browse Helix Hydro semi-automatic brush filters and semi-automatic screen filters.

Which Filter Suits Your Job

Choosing a filter comes down to three things: your water source, your flow rate in m³/hr, and how much cleaning you want to do by hand. Here is the short version, and it holds true for most water filtration Australia wide.

  • Manual screen and brush filters suit smaller lines and cleaner water, where a quick flush now and then is fine. They are the lowest-cost way to protect a pump or a drip block.
  • Semi-automatic brush and screen filters let you clean the element by turning a handle or opening a flush valve, with no strip-down. Good for medium flows and silty water.
  • Fully automatic self-cleaning screen filters read the pressure drop across the screen and backflush themselves when it climbs. These are the workhorses for high flow, non-stop supply, and sites where nobody is standing by to clean a filter.
  • Self-cleaning suction strainers sit on the intake and handle heavy algae and coarse solids straight from surface water, using a spinning basket that keeps the screen clear.

Not sure on size or micron rating? Call our team on (08) 6384 5884. Sizing a filter wrong is the most common mistake we see, and it is the easiest one to avoid.

Understanding micron and mesh ratings

A filter is rated by how small a particle it can catch, measured in microns or by mesh count. Lower microns mean finer filtration. For rough context, a human hair is about 75 microns across. Drip and micro irrigation usually needs finer screens, often near 120 to 130 mesh, because tiny emitters block easily. Sprinklers and larger nozzles can run coarser screens. Match the micron rating to the smallest opening in your system, not to the water, and you will get long runs between cleans. If you tell us your emitter or nozzle size, we will point you to the right screen. This one detail decides whether your water filtration setup runs for years or clogs in a week.

Manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic: what it really costs

The cheapest filter to buy is not always the cheapest to own. A manual filter has a low upfront price, but someone has to flush it, and a missed clean can starve a pump or split a dripline. A fully automatic self-cleaning filter costs more to buy, then pays it back on labour, uptime, and gear that lasts longer. For a remote pump running stock or crop water, or a plant that cannot stop, automatic filtration is usually the right call. For a small block near the shed, a manual or semi-automatic filter does the job for less. We stock the full spread, with real prices on the page, so you can weigh the trade-off yourself instead of guessing from a range.

Built for Australian Water and Australian Conditions

Water in this country is rarely gentle on equipment. Bore water carries iron and fine sand. Dam and river water swings from clear to thick with algae after rain. Recycled and effluent water is loaded with organics. Our water filtration Australia range is chosen for exactly these problems, with pressure ratings to 8 and 10 Bar and connections in BSP threaded, flanged Table D, and flanged Table E to match your existing pipework. That means a filter that bolts up to what you already have, not a rebuild.

Based in Western Australia, we understand regional and remote supply better than a city-only shop. Perth market gardens, Wheatbelt broadacre farms, Great Southern vineyards, Gascoyne and Carnarvon horticulture, and Goldfields and Pilbara sites all run on water that needs filtering before it reaches a pump or a dripline. We ship the full range Australia-wide through Australia Post, with free shipping on orders over $100, so a filter can be on its way to a remote site the same week you order. Water filtration Australia wide, from a team that answers the phone.

Protect the Pump, Not Just the Pipe

A filter is only half the job. The real point of water filtration is to protect the expensive gear downstream: the pump, the controller, the nozzles, and the crop or process that depends on steady flow. That is why we sell filters right next to the pumps and parts they protect. In one order you can match a Filtaworx or Helix Hydro filter with a submersible bore pump, a Grundfos, Davey, Onga, or Tsurumi pump, a pressure tank, and a pump controller, from a supplier that knows how they fit together.

Common jobs our filters handle:

  • Drip and micro irrigation, keeping emitters and drippers open
  • Sprinkler and centre-pivot protection on broadacre and pasture
  • Bore and surface water intake for stock, crop, and dust suppression
  • Cooling tower and process water in industry, cutting scale and sludge build-up
  • Effluent and recycled water reuse on farms and in treatment plants
  • Pump gland, seal, and bearing protection to extend service life

From a single grower with one bore to a contractor fitting out a pivot, a horticulture block, or an industrial water intake, the filter is the cheap part that saves the dear part. Get it right and the pump, the drippers, and the controller all last longer.

Why Buyers Choose Pumptastic for Water Filtration Australia

Plenty of sites sell irrigation and industrial filters. Fewer show you the price, the spec, and the stock in one place, then back it with people who actually know pumps. We list over 3,000 pumps and parts, dispatch fast, and answer the phone Monday to Friday. When you buy the water filtration Australia growers and industry rely on, you also get the pumps, controllers, tanks, and fittings to finish the system, plus straight advice on sizing, micron ratings, and connection types. No jargon, just the facts you need to buy with confidence.

Ready to sort your filtration? Browse the full filter range above, compare Filtaworx and Helix Hydro side by side, or call (08) 6384 5884 for help matching a filter to your pump and water source. What is the best water filter for bore water in Australia?

For bore water with iron and fine sand, a screen filter with a stainless SS304 element is the usual pick. Choose a manual or semi-automatic screen filter for small lines, or a self-cleaning screen filter for higher flows and unattended pumps. Match the micron rating to your finest emitter or nozzle. Call us on (08) 6384 5884 with your flow rate and we will size it.

What is the difference between a screen filter, a disc filter, and a brush filter?

A screen filter traps particles on a fine mesh and suits silt and sand. A brush filter uses rotating brushes to sweep debris off the screen, which handles heavier, dirtier water and organics. Disc filters stack grooved rings to catch fine solids. For most irrigation and surface water in Australia, screen and brush filters cover the job.

What micron rating do I need for drip irrigation?

Drip and micro irrigation usually needs a fine screen, often around 120 to 130 mesh, because emitters block easily. Sprinklers and larger nozzles can run coarser. The rule is simple: match the filter to the smallest opening in your system, not to the water. Tell us your emitter size and we will point you to the right screen.

Should I buy a manual or a fully automatic self-cleaning filter?

A manual filter is cheaper to buy but needs someone to flush it. A fully automatic self-cleaning filter costs more upfront, then saves on labour and downtime by backflushing itself. For remote pumps, stock and crop water, or plants that cannot stop, automatic is usually worth it. For a small block, manual or semi-automatic is fine.

How do I size a filter to my pump and flow rate?

Sizing starts with your flow rate in m³/hr and your pipe size, then your water quality and finest opening. Pick a filter rated at or above your flow so it does not choke the pump. If you are unsure, send us your pump model, flow, and connection type, and we will match a filter.

Will these filters fit my existing pipework?

Yes. Our filters come in BSP threaded, flanged Table D, and flanged Table E connections in common sizes, so you can bolt one up to what you already have. Check the connection type on each product page, or ask us and we will confirm the fit.

Can these filters handle dam, river, or recycled water?

Yes. Brush filters and self-cleaning screen filters are built for surface water with algae, sand, and organics, including dam, river, channel, effluent, and recycled supply. For heavy algae straight off an intake, a self-cleaning suction strainer is the strong option.

What filter brands do you stock, and are they made to a standard?

We stock Filtaworx and Helix Hydro. Filtaworx units are assembled and tested in Australia under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. Helix Hydro covers manual, semi-automatic, and self-cleaning filters with stainless SS304 screens and epoxy-coated or polymer bodies. Both are chosen for Australian water.

Do you deliver to regional and remote sites?

Yes. We ship Australia-wide through Australia Post, with free shipping on orders over $100. We are based in Western Australia and send filters to farms, mines, and industrial sites across the country, including remote areas.

Why do I need a filter if I already have a pump?

A filter protects the pump and everything after it. Without one, sand, silt, and algae wear pump seals and bearings, block drippers and nozzles, and cause uneven watering or shutdowns. A filter is the cheap part that saves the dear part, and it usually pays for itself in fewer breakdowns.
