Signal SD-DN Series Programmable DataNodes for SDS Two-Wire Irrigation Controllers

The Signal SD-DN Series Programmable DataNodes are intelligent two-wire interface modules designed to expand the functionality of Signal SDS Series Irrigation Controllers. Installed anywhere along the two-wire path, DataNodes allow compatible sensors, meters, switches, and pump relays to communicate directly with the controller without requiring long dedicated control-wire runs. Each module is housed in a fully sealed, water- and dust-resistant enclosure with an integrated LED status indicator, providing flexible field installation and fast diagnostics. With support for up to 12 DataNodes per compatible SDS controller and bi-directional communication approximately every three seconds, the SD-DN Series provides a scalable platform for pump control, sensor automation, flow monitoring, environmental protection, and remote irrigation management.

Model Details

• SD-DN-P PumpNode: Activates a pump-start relay from a selected location on the two-wire network. SDS controllers are supplied with one PumpNode as standard, and additional PumpNodes can be added to control up to eight separate pumps.
• SD-LY2-PS PumpNode Kit: Includes a PumpNode, Omron LY2 relay, and plug-in power supply, providing a complete solution for standalone or retrofit pump activation without separately sourcing relay and power components.
• SD-DN-SW Switch-Type DataNode: Monitors open or closed contact states from compatible devices such as rain switches, tank level sensors, pressure switches, or frost sensors. Controller logic can be configured to respond automatically when the contact state changes.
• SD-DN-CN Counter-Type DataNode: Counts dry-contact pulses from compatible water meters, kWh meters, and similar measuring devices. It allows remotely located pulse meters to report data over the two-wire path, with support for up to seven pulse meters in applicable SDS configurations.
