The Signal SD-DN-MO Two-Wire Moisture Sensor & DataNode is a high-precision soil moisture monitoring device designed for direct integration with Signal SDS Series Two-Wire Irrigation Controllers. Combining a rugged soil moisture sensor with a pre-attached DataNode, the SD-DN-MO connects directly to the SDS two-wire path and continuously reports volumetric water content (VWC) back to the controller. Using 70 MHz frequency capacitance technology, the sensor is designed to provide stable moisture readings across different soil types while reducing the influence of salinity and soil texture. Moisture thresholds can be used to automatically skip or delay irrigation when soil moisture is already above a programmed setpoint, helping improve water efficiency and irrigation responsiveness.
Suitable Applications
- Commercial landscape irrigation systems
- Agricultural and horticultural irrigation
- Sports fields and turf irrigation systems
- Parks and public landscape areas
- Soil moisture-based irrigation control
- Rainfall-responsive irrigation management
- Water-efficient irrigation systems
- Multi-zone sites requiring program-specific moisture monitoring
- Remote moisture monitoring through SignalCloud™
- SDS two-wire irrigation systems requiring soil condition feedback
