SEG pumps from Grundfos are designed as submersible pumps with a horizontal discharge port, intended for pressurized toilet sewage pumping. The SEG pumps are provided with a grinder system which enables smaller diameter piping transport of shredded waste solids.
To minimize dirt and impurities from sticking, the pump's surface is smooth. The pump is mainly composed of cast iron. The stainless steel clamp which secures the motor to the pump housing helps avoid corrosion and enhances servicing of the pump. The power cable of the pump also includes wires for thermal sensors in the motor winding. The cable connection is a plug solution. In the event of pump cable damage, the plug connection will entirely seal, preventing cable moisture, thus protecting the pump.
With the pump, controllers and an intrinsically safe barrier, such as the LC-Ex4 from Grundfos, an integrated pump and controller solution must be provided.
VTT has provided an approval to the pump in accordance with the ATEX directive.
