Grundfos SEG pumps are wastewater submersible pumps that have a horizontal discharge port and are designed for pressurized pumping of sewerage and sewage from toilets. They are equipped with a grinder system which enables the pumps to grind capably destructible solids into small pieces that can be transported through small diameter pipes.  

The surface of the SEG pumps is smooth to avoid dirt and other unwanted materials from sticking onto the pumps. They are primarily made of cast iron. The SEG grinder pumps have a smooth surface to prevent dirt from sticking and are primarily made of cast iron. The clamp that holds the motor to the pump is made of stainless steel, restricting corrosion and aiding in the easy servicing of the pump. Segmented pumps have a power cable that contains wires for the thermal sensors located in the motor winding. The cable connection is a plug solution. Total sealing of the pump prevents moisture from entering the pump through the cable in cases of cable breakage and careless handling with the pump cable.  

Together with an intrinsically safe barrier, the pump needs to be connected to a controller, for example, LC-Ex4 supported by Grundfos A/S.  

VTT approved the pump SEG 2.5-15, SEG5-15, SEG7-15 under the ATEX directive.
