Grundfos SEG pumps are submersible pumps with horizontal discharge ports designed specifically for pressured pumping of wastewater with toilet discharge. These pumps are equipped with grinder systems that enable the grinding of destructible solids into small pieces that can be transported through small diameter pipes. 

To avoid the adhesion of dirt to the pump, the surface is smooth. The pump case is mainly made of cast iron. The stainless steel used for the clamp that binds the motor to the pump housing aids in the corrosion-free, maintenance-friendly design of the unit. The power cable of the unit contains thermally sensitive motor winding sensors. The pump’s power cable connection is plug-shaped. The sealed plug connection, while providing mechanical strength, also guarantees that moisture cannot ingress into the pump due to cable damage. 

Together with an LC-Ex4 intrinsically safe barrier, the pump must be connected to a controller e.g. Grundfos A/S supports LC-Ex4. 

VTT has approved the pump for the ATEX directive, giving the pump’s certification.
