Grundfos SEG pumps are horizontal submersible pumps designed for pressurized flow and wastewater disposal from toilets. SEG pumps are provided with a grinder system with the capability of grinding destructible solids to small pieces for transport through narrow pipes.  

To avoid accumulation of dirt, the surface of the SEG pump is smooth. The primary material of the pump is cast iron. The stainless steel clamp which secures the motor to the pump housing is corrosion resistant and facilitates servicing which is why it is made of stainless steel. The motor winding’s thermal sensors are wired to the pump’s power cable which has a plug connection. The pump is well protected from moisture and the seal ensures that no moisture gets in through the cable.  

Grundfos A/S specifies the use of LC-Ex4 or other appropriately safe barriers alongside a controller for pump connection.  

VTT has issued a confirmation of the pump in accordance to the ATEX directive.
